After doing some research I realized these animals are far more common in NYC than I would have ever thought. I left a post on another blog asking about NYers' run-ins with these critters and f people thought if they were harmful or not. I was shocked the other night (Saturday 3/20/10) when in Greenpoint I saw an opossum. I was walking the dog and he went into hunter mode and began to point. I thought it was going to be the neighbor's cat but it was a big opossum having dinner in the garbage area of my building. If a friend of mine can have a raccoon infestation in Williamsburg we can have opossum in Greenpoint.dennisnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21554899.post-49168521224252300312010-03-08T19:20:33.187-08:002010-03-08T19:20:33.187-08:00Saw one in my yard as well (Ditmas Park). They're all over our neighborhood here in northeastern Queens. My husband often sees them in the morning when he's walking to the railroad, and I've seen plenty dead in the street, victims of cars. My husband even saw one in lower Manhattan once.IrishNYChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06812442733783210826noreply@blogger.com
