The aromas of baking crusts, rich tomato and oregano alone told you that were at Lex and 86th. I remember the place from the days of the 25 cents slice, to the $1.50 one. From the front window, we watched the enthralling sight of pizza dough being flung high into the air and insouciantly caught by a cook who was so expert that his eyes never even strayed to the whirling disc in flight. For the record: I attended Nightgale Bamford from 1957 to 1965. There was NO injunction on Hav-a-Pizza, believe me ;-)))Acanthushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01794130051037983286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21554899.post-61871060989756168812013-05-10T16:16:08.703-07:002013-05-10T16:16:08.703-07:00Most of my circle of kids from The Dalton School l...Most of my circle of kids from The Dalton School loved Tony and thought he was the greatest.<br />Peternoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21554899.post-9061487542640377082012-05-30T11:59:57.465-07:002012-05-30T11:59:57.465-07:00beautifulbeautifulKen Machttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09100185198750536244noreply@blogger.com
