Cats Also Affected by Collapse of 217 Cout

Construction workers labored steadily today on the slow dismantling of 217 Court Street in Cobble Hill, which partially collapsed last week due to excessive main (and, probably, years of neglect). Men were throwing everything from pieces of wood to chunks of brick and sheets of rusted metal from a third-floor window into a dumpster below.

Not only the buildings on either side of 217 have been vacated in the meantime. Also affected is the pristine residence around the corner, 251 Warren Street. Occupants of the rear part of the building have been told to get out while demolition occurs. A hand-written note on the door also reveals that an innocent cat may be caught up in the machinery of demolition. Oh, the humanity.
