You can't tell from this picture, but on a recent rainy windy day, this old wooden shutter, above the Pet Central store on Bleecker, was banging back and forth, just like some sound effect from a corny old horror film. Don't get many banging shutters in modern Manhattan. Spooky.
I keep taking photos of this building but then never spend the time to find out more about why it's empty. It's a lovely old federal style building that seems to be fading fast.
