Wooden Phone Booth Sighting: O'Connor's Bar

Haven't done a "Wooden Phone Booth Sighting" feature in some time, and it's high time I did. This one is inside O'Connor's bar, which since 1931 has sat anchored Fifth Avenue near Atlantic. The booth is in working order. It has a seat, a light that goes on when you close the door and a fan above.

And here's the piece la pièce de la resistance. The phone has a rotary dial! And it works! Only wooden phone booth rotary dial in working order I've seen outside of Fedora.

  1. Great find. Thanks for posting the pics. I didn't think there were any rotary payphones left in service in NY.
