A Good Sign: Thomas Pizza

Thomas Pizza. Maybe it's just me, but I think it's funny for a pizzeria to be owned by someone names Thomas. Thomas doesn't sound like a pizzeria-owner name. Di Fara, sure. Liugi, Roma, Sal, Sam, Leonardo, Patsy, Grimaldi, all good. But Thomas? It's like Jeffrey Pizza. Or James Pizza. Funny.

In Jackson Heights.

  1. I used to eat here all the time. With my buddy Tommy

  2. I grew up eating Thomas' pizza and the Italian Gourmet which was right down the street. This was the 60's and 70's.

  3. We knew it as Tommy's. Great pizza and heroes. The most fun was buying a slice and soda at the window and eating it walking down 37th Ave. Funny thing about the name -- for years, their pizza boxes said "Thoma's Pizza."
