Pier 1 of Brooklyn Bridge Park

I biked, and then walked (Dismount bikes here!), through the Pier 1 extension of Brooklyn Bridge Park the other day. Very nice. Very green. And I appreciated the noted used of native plants. And that New Yorkers now have another way of getting very close to the water, and that Brooklynites can closely feel their relationship to Manhattan (There it is!). I also appreciate the wine bar.

Brave choice to include wetlands, I thought. That's a part of nature, too, you know, even if it's not as pretty as some others.

Nice brickwork on the boat landing. And nice that there's a boat landing at all!
