Christmas Under the Onion Domes

Not a good picture, I know. But I had to run it. I love that Christmas trees are being sold in the shadow of the the Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Our Lord on N. 12th Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Looks like a scene from Russia.

  1. I love this photo and your blog. I just discovered your blog when I was looking for the history of Le Figaro. I had visited the west village a few weeks ago and was taken aback and saddened by the loss of the beautiful old cafes that had flanked 3 of the 4 corners at Macdougal and Bleecker.
    Thanks for remembering and sharing.
