Record and Tape Center Still There

In May 2009, we got the sad news that Park Slope's Record and Tape Center, a shop which has sat on Fifth Avenue near Ninth Street for 38 years, was being booted out by its landlord.

Then we got the happy news in June 2009 that the shop's 72-year-old owner Tony Mignone had found a new home just three doors down from its current spot at 439 Fifth Ave.

Well, here it is, January 2010, and the Center is still there, still selling records and tapes in the same scrappy fashion. Just don't push on the door too hard, OK?
