Gowanus Nursery Booted Out of Space, But Not Out of Red Hook

A big piece of machinery sticking out of a the plot on Summit Street that used to hold Gowanus Nursery.   What's that mean? Means the nursery, there for four summer, and generally brightening up the bleak block is gone, and two town houses are going up. But all is not lost. The nursery is reopening in March at the corner of Carroll and Van Brunt, just a block away.
